well, it wasn’t exactly today. but it was proved today.
i went to the dentist today to get a cavity filled. a couple weeks ago at my checkup and cleaning, they said i’d need a cavity filled in one tooth.
over the past few days, i started really putting into practice what i’ve learned about prayer.
And I prayed for my tooth. I prayed that it would be whole and when I went to the dentist they would find no cavity that needed filling.
And so I went to my appointment today, and after a while of looking around in my mouth with their instruments and such, the dentist said “well, sorry for making you drive out here today.”
the couldn’t find the cavity. which makes perfect sense to me, because I know there was no cavity that needed filling there, because that’s what I prayed for.
i guarantee my prayer strategy was different than what you or most other Christians do when you pray. If you want to talk about it, i’d love to with you. Seriously, I would really like to. I’ll probably make a post about it too sometime.
The key to it has a lot to do with Mark 11:24-
“24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
believing you receive what you pray for comes before actually having it. it’s your job to believe under all circumstances. i believed i got healed when i prayed, not when the dentist couldn’t find a cavity.
yeah, a healed tooth cavity might seem kind of trivial. but now I know I have at least the faith for that, and my faith is only going to grow. God intended so much more for us than the level we’re living at right now. I’m gonna prove that I’ve learned how to go higher than we believed we could.
and if you’ll let me i’ll teach you too.
